Merle is a senior energy executive and professional engineer with 30 years of experience across oil and gas operations, development, and corporate leadership. He served as CEO of Connacher Oil and Gas from 2015 until 2024, helping transform the company into a successful private thermal operator while advancing innovative financing structures and oil sands technologies. Merle previously held engineering roles with EnCana (now Cenovus) and IMC Global (now Mosaic). His heavy oil career began with Husky Oil as a student operator at Pikes Peak in the mid 1990’s. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan (with Distinction), an MBA from the University of Calgary, and the ICD.D designation. Merle is a member of the Metis Nation of Alberta.
CFO
Christine is a senior energy-sector executive with 25+ years of experience and over $6B in Canadian oil and gas M&A. She led major transactions at Tamarack Valley and Black Swan Energy, including the $1.4B Deltastream acquisition, the $1.1B sale of Black Swan to Tourmaline and played a key role in the $3.0B sale of Daylight Energy to Sinopec. Christine is a CFA charterholder with a B.Comm from the University of Calgary and serves on the Board of the Petroleum Acquisition & Divestment Association.
VP Geosciences
Murray is a professional geologist with nearly 30 years of experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, specializing in heavy oil and thermal SAGD development. He was an early member of Serafina Energy, where he helped support growth to approximately 38,000 bbl/d prior to its $2.3B acquisition by Strathcona Resources in 2022. Murray holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Calgary and is a member of APEGA and APEGS.
VP Exploitation
Kirk is a professional engineer with more than 23 years of experience in reservoir and development engineering across Canada and international markets. He has held technical roles with several public energy companies and helped build multiple private oil and gas ventures. His expertise spanning primary development, enhanced recovery and complex well design. Internationally, he contributed to the development of the Mangara and Badilla fields in Chad, which reached combined peak production of approximately 20,000 bbl/d. Kirk holds a B.Sc. in Oil and Gas Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a registered P.Eng. with APEGA.
Director Land
Michael is a senior mineral landman with more than 25 years of experience in land management, negotiations, asset strategy and stakeholder relations. Most recently, he managed Kiwetinohk’s core Duvernay and Montney mineral land portfolio following its acquisition of Delphi Energy, where he served as Vice President, Land for more than 13 years. Michael has also held land roles at Nexen, Direct Energy and Rockyview Energy. He spent 14 years teaching petroleum land management at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and is a recipient of the CAPL Bright Lights Award.
Director Geophysics
Jeremy is a senior geoscientist with more than 30 years of exploration and development experience across Western Canada, the North Sea, and Offshore West Africa. As VP Exploration at Hitic Energy, he sourced three new ventures that grew the company from zero to 4000 boe/d light oil and ~$700 mm 2P NPV10. He also previously held technical roles at CNRL, BP and Shell, and consulted for other operators. Over his career, Jeremy has contributed to more than 40,000 boe/d of initial production through drilling and more than 10,000 boe/d through acquisitions.
Kaush Rakhit is a hydrodynamics specialist, entrepreneur and energy industry innovator with more than three decades of experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. He founded Rakhit Petroleum Consulting and later led Canadian Discovery Ltd., helping advance industry understanding of major unconventional plays including the Montney, Duvernay and Bakken. Kaush has also co-founded and directed several energy and technology ventures and was a founding investor and long-term director of Seven Generations Energy and Kiwetinohk Energy. He holds a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and an M.Sc. in Petroleum Hydrogeology from the University of Alberta.
Leland Corbett is counsel in the Banking & Finance and Corporate Groups at Stikeman Elliott LLP. He is an experienced corporate and finance lawyer whose practice focuses on banking, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and complex corporate transactions. He has acted as senior counsel on numerous public and private financings, acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations for companies, financial institutions and underwriters. Leland is a member of the Canadian and Calgary Bar Associations and has held senior leadership roles with Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Cam Proctor is a partner at Blake, Cassels and Graydon LLP and former energy executive with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities and governance. He has advised public and private companies on complex domestic and cross-border transactions and previously held senior executive and legal leadership roles in the energy sector, including Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Secretary, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. His combined legal and operating experience provides a strong perspective on corporate strategy, transactions and governance.
Pat is a professional engineer and energy executive with more than four decades of experience in oil and gas development, engineering and corporate leadership. He co-founded several successful energy companies, including Passage Energy, Krang Energy, North American Oil Sands and Seven Generations Energy, serving as CEO of Seven Generations through its growth into a publicly traded producer. Most recently, Pat served as President and CEO of Kiwetinohk until his retirement in 2025. He is a registered P.Eng. and holds the ICD.D designation.
Dr. Fotis Kalantzis is an energy executive and geophysicist with more than 25 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and development. He is President, CEO, Director and co-founder of Spartan Delta and a Director and co-founder of Logan Energy. He has co-founded several successful public energy companies, including Spartan Energy, Spartan Oil and Spartan Exploration, and previously held technical roles with Petro-Canada, Saudi Aramco, Suncor and other major producers. Dr. Kalantzis holds a B.Sc. in Physics and a Diploma in Environmental Physics from Aristotle University, an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Ph.D. in Geophysics.
